New England Biz Law Update
Back by popular demand, the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel is once again hosting a “mini-MBA” program for its Annual Conference. The enormous success of last year’s mini-MBA, coupled with numerous requests to hold a similar program again this year, made the decision easy.
Skadden Arps will be sponsoring this event, which is scheduled for Nov. 16. The co-sponsor, Boston University School of Management, Executive Leadership Center, has developed a stellar program for us.
Entitled “What You Didn’t Learn in Law School: Business Strategy, Financial Red Flags, Organizational Behavior,” this year’s program will require that attendees read a case study prior to attending. All the presentations will deal with the particular problems and situations faced by the company in the case study.

Skadden Arps is enthusiastic about sponsoring this innovative program, and will be leading the legal issues discussion. Boston University developed the mini-MBA for ACC-Northeast last year as a pilot for their week-long “Pocket MBA” program, which has been very successful.
Both organizations and ACC-Northeast recognize that lawyers need to develop more business skills as they advance in their careers, and feel this program is a solid step along the way. The overwhelmingly enthusiastic response indicates that we’re on the right track.
The program is open to ACC-Northeast members only. Unlike last year, we will not have room for non-members. Please plan to join so you can attend!
