Welcome To New England In-House!

Welcome to New England In-House – the region’s only newspaper devoted solely to your interests and concerns as corporate counsel!

Lawyers Weekly — which has been informing lawyers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and across the country for more than 30 years — takes pride in presenting this new publication, which will contain up-to-date, practical information to help you be better lawyers. As with all other Lawyers Weekly publications, we will strive always to make that information as readable and easy to use as possible.

The paper you’re holding in your hands will be published quarterly and sent free to in-house attorneys throughout New England. Pass it along to colleagues in your department. They can contact us to sign up for their free subscription.

Each issue will contain news and feature articles on topics that matter most to in-house lawyers. And we’ll summarize federal appellate opinions covering New England from the previous three months on issues affecting corporate lawyers. We figure those digests will be useful “in case you missed it” when the opinions were first released.

We devote coverage in this issue to something on the minds of corporate counsel everywhere: how to deliver value to their companies in a down economy. And we’re honored that outside lawyers took the time to submit articles providing constructive commentary and practice tips along those lines.

Following a turbulent year of corporate scandals, the Securities and Exchange Commission has been in overdrive, and this issue has a terrific article bringing you up to date on all the latest developments at the SEC. And speaking of corporate reform, we also have a provocative piece arguing that courts and laws in Delaware will undermine the new federal laws designed to clean up corporate fraud.

In our wired age, we wouldn’t be whole without a companion website. Please stop by on your Internet travels at www.newenglandbizlawupdate.com, where you’ll find helpful links and features. We’re also offering a weekly e-mail alert covering the latest opinions and news stories of interest to in-house lawyers. You can sign up at our website.

We welcome any and all suggestions on how to make New England In-House more useful and interesting for you. Feel free to give me a call at 800-444-5297, ext. 8141, or send an e-mail to [email protected]. Happy reading!
